Local News

The Electricity Control Board (ECB) is not impressed with the manner in which the country’s power utility, NamPower, is handling its debt-collection affairs – a situation which has resulted in it being owed over N$1 billion by defaulting clients. (Sun Newspaper)

Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) CEO Emilia Nghikembua stated total investment in the telecommunications sector declined during the fourth quarter of 2022. She cautioned that in the long run, this could result in poorer service quality due to congestion in some areas. (New Era Newspaper)

China’s exports grew at a slower pace in April and imports posted a sharp decline signaling that the expected rebound in the economy after the lifting of Covid controls is unlikely to last long. (RTT News)

Ukraine’s capital Kyiv has come under a Russian aerial attack involving drones, cruise, and ballistic missiles in what one Ukrainian military official described as an “exceptional” onslaught involving the highest number of missiles fired by Moscow in the shortest time and from different directions.
