NSX Activities

A total of N$ 136 311 569 worth of shares was traded on the NSX on Friday, with about N$   18 300 268 worth of Shoprite Holdings, N$ 18 380 099 worth of FirstRand Limited and N$ 4 186 663 worth of Capricorn Group Limited on the home front. ETFs worth N$ 329 340 were  recorded on Friday.

HEI Equity Research Commentary

From the trading activity that took place:

  • Shoprite Holding’s distribution of annual financial statements announcement resulted in the sell-off of shares.
  • As FirstRand Limited’s market performance slowly increases, shares were still  sold due to downwards drag of the banking sector.
  • Shares in Capricorn Group were bought in large volume following a high rising appetite in investor’s confidence on the home front.
  • Lastly, New Gold Issuer Ltd NM ETF was sold as delisting of debentures commences.
