Local News

Despite the Supreme Court agreeing with a High Court ruling against a Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) increase on telecommunications providers’ gross income at the end of last year, an industry battle involving the authority is in court again (Namibian Sun)

South Africa is teetering on the brink of its most severe power cuts yet, just two months after the government announced emergency measures to try to end intermittent outages, prompting President Cyril Ramaphosa to cut short an overseas trip to oversee the response to the crisis. (News24)

South African power utility Eskom implemented Stage 6 power cuts early on Sunday morning, its worst level touched for the second time this year although a “total blackout” was not imminent, its chief executive officer said. (CNBC Africa)

The former president of the Gabonese National Assembly, Guy Nzouba-Ndama, was arrested on Saturday, September 17, with suitcases, filled more than a billion CFA francs, according to the government daily L’Union.
