NSX Activities

A total of N$ 10 130 642  shares were traded on the NSX on Monday with about N$ 3 261 771 worth of Anglo-American Plc, N$ 3 350 733 worth of Shoprite Holdings, N$ 2 137 059 worth of Investec Limited and N$ 405 082 worth of Standard Bank Group. No ETFs were traded on Monday.

  • Shoprite Holdings shares prices declined due to current market conditions.
  • Investec Limited’s shares were sold by private investors on the same day the compliance annual report was released.
  • Standard Bank Group share price fell by R4 dollars, despite talks of a buyout offer for Liberty Holdings.

Flitch Rating Agency affirms Namibia’s Long-term Foreign-Currency (LT FC) Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at ‘BB’ with a Negative Outlook. With its creditworthiness down due to a contained rise in government debt.  (New Era Newspaper)

Increased cost of living in Namibia is due to food and non-alcoholic beverages costs as consumers are diverting more of their income towards essential items. (The Namibian)

Ministry of Home Affairs increases costs of renewal and lost documents. Emergency travel documents will now cost N$ 300, hiked from N$ 150.  (Namibian Sun).
